About Clare Loewenthal

Backed by 30 Years’ Experience

In a serendipitous career spanning three decades, I have seamlessly juggled the roles of author, magazine publisher, book coach and entrepreneur. The common thread running through these roles is that, at my core, I am a storyteller.

In 1993, with no publishing experience and limited resources, I launched Dynamic Small Business magazine, which grew to become Australia’s largest small business publication.

I quickly discovered I had a natural affinity with magazines and thrived in the competitive world of publishing. The business expanded to include several other business titles, including Nothing Ventured Nothing Gained (Venture Capital Explained), Dynamic Coaching and Moving Ahead (Relocating to Regional NSW). The business also had a custom publishing arm that helped clients build stronger relationships with their customers through magazines and specialised print communication.

The Journey Continued

I became a sought-after public speaker and expert commentator on small business issues, often advocating for “the little guys”. I worked with the NSW State Government on several projects and participated in a Senate inquiry into the training requirements of small businesses. I enjoyed my position as the industry advisor on a VET resource designed at encouraging high school students to consider self-employment. Committed to empowering emerging entrepreneurs, I was a mentor for the Women in Business Mentor Program and was a judge for Austrade’s Australian Export Awards.

During this period, I also wrote two books.

In 2006, I made the difficult decision to sell the business to reconnect with my greatest love – writing. Because of my broad commercial experience and my extensive business network, it is unsurprising that most of my subsequent writing and editing assignments have been business-related.

For the past 15 years, I have achieved a satisfying balance, working with many aspiring authors to help them realise their dreams, remaining engaged with the corporate world, and pursuing my personal creative endeavours.
